A myriad of bright ideas.

It had been a couple of days since the return of Yuu. Quinn was persistent on him staying at the Rufner mansion, but also was pretty adamant on staying home all of the time. He had pulled the warlock into long marathons of SVU that lasted all day but they didn't actually really do anything. He didn't actually do much in terms of getting too close to him. He just continued his daily life but this time also with an old friend that he once had a thing for when he was much smaller and significantly less hairy.

And today he expected it to be the same. He woke up as slowly as usual, getting up from the bed of the guest room that he had pretty much rarely slept in, typically favoring the couch. He hovered tiredly into the bathroom, doing his usual morning routine which including brushing his teeth and falling all over himself. It was noon already, so the rest of the house was already up and doing things. Roman and his sister were gone, doing whatever it was they did. Murdering people, probably. The dogs were being taken care of by the help. The rest of them cleaning and straightening all of the things that Quinn moved slightly in an attempt to annoy Roman.

He floated through the door, going through the wall and going back to the guest room so he could change out of his pajamas and in to jeans. He didn't usually opt for pants, just being the sort of guy who could happily sit around in his pajamas until the day he died. But for the past couple of days he had been changing his clothes appropriately. He didn't exactly know WHY, but he felt like he had to so he just did.

He crossroads demon yawned, stretching his arms before leaning back into a laying down position while still levitating. He folded his hands behind his head as he floated back through another wall and into the livingroom where he gently floated back down onto the couch where his body has left an indent that will probably be there long after he is gone. The tv flipped on, the sounds of Jersey Shore filling the room. This was it. This was going to be his day. And it was going to be a great one.

He had briefly thought about going to the store or something, but decided against it. Whatever he needed he could send Roman out for. Or, rather, trick him in to coming home with it next time he did go to the store. So he didn't really have any actual plans for the day other than eventually getting something to eat at some point. There was certainly a lot of meat sitting around that he could make use of. But also Roselyn had been kind enough to give him a pretty hefty stock of ramen noodles.

She was so nice about him being here. She returned after being gone or something and, unlike Roman, didn't mind his precense at all. In fact a couple of times they had snuggled up and eaten popcorn and ice cream while watching several romantic comedies. She would complain about how she couldn't do that with Roman because he would always just default to reading books. But Quinn? No. Quiggins was born for this. He was down for watching ever romantic comedy that has been released in the last twenty years. He could watch anything that has been made since his birth and he would be all about it.

Not that he was exactly against doing other things, but it was never part of his own plan. Sometimes he would wander into the streets of Cromer to make a deal with some low-life or two, maybe drink a little. But it usually wasn't part of his plan. Usually his plan was right here, and he was perfectly content with just that.

His tail wrapped around his leg as he settled into the couch. Losing himself in the noise of Geico commercials, just letting himself become part of the furniture. Not paying much attention to what was going on around him, other than keeping himself from being able to be seen by the help that were moving about the mansion. Though the steered clear of the room any way. One old man, some really supersticious fellow, could feel him in there. Would make a big deal about the 'dark energy' in the room. And it freaked a lot of the others out. So they actually actively avoided this room in particular. He didn't know why that was, but who was he to complain? Maybe he smelled bad or something. He shouldn't, though. He showered pretty regularly.

I’ve Got A Sunset In My Veins
And I need to take a pill to make this town feel okay
The best part of "Believe" is the "Lie", I hope you sing along and you steal a line
Yuudai was going mad. He’d always been a transient creature, untethered and flighty at best. To stay anywhere for too long often caused him trouble, and he ran from the idea itself by not staying in place long enough for it to catch him. Yet here he was, several days into an indeterminate stay with Quiggins. The length thus far was not the issue.

It was the immobility of it.

Quinn tended to stay indoors, often settling for long periods of inactive television watching. This wouldn’t bother Yuu if he had it within his power to get out, but the area was far too new to him to venture out unaided. Aside, he was enjoying the other’s company even if it required him to be still and fight the itching sensation of anxious energy that crawled along his spine as they watched another court scene flicker by on the screen. The feeling just dampened the experience for him a bit, and he wasn’t altogether fond of that.

When he finally faded into consciousness that morning [afternoon, morelike. It was nearly twelve] Yuudai decided almost immediately that another day of this wouldn’t do. He swung spindly legs over the edge of the guest bed he’d wandered to the previous night, stretching them out and curling his toes, joints popping and creaking as was typical of a man his age. The warlock stood and raised a hand to rake through his hair, quickly smoothing it into something he hoped was acceptable while he searched for his pants—abandoned in a far corner before climbing into bed the previous evening—tugging them on in a quick motion before heading to the door.

Splaying his hands across it, he muttered quietly under his breath, disengaging the Ignorance spell he’d cast the previous evening. It wasn’t that people would think the room was no longer there; just that they’d disregard it as unimportant and leave him be. He was never fond of being woken up on anyone’s schedule but his own, and aside, didn’t get the feeling that Roman would be totally harmless should he come upon Yuu asleep. He’d been more or less ignoring his unwarranted houseguest thus far, but the length of his patience had yet to be determined.

He slipped out into the hallway, quietly closing the door behind himself. After a few moments of contemplation the warlock started to the left, hoping it was the right direction for Quinn’s usual haunt. He’d spent a lot of time lost and wandering in the maze of hallways that comprised the Rufner manor, usually just going until he ran into a servant or saw something familiar. Today was no different, Yuudai recognizing a particularly unsettling painting and turning down the proper corridor. He rapped twice at the door before he pushed it open, finding Quinn in exactly the same dent he expected him to be in.

”Quiggins!” he greeted brightly, beaming at the demon as he closed the door and leaned back against it, ”This house is suffocating. You should show me Cromer.” He’d never been one to dance around words, his lack of social graces allowing him to get straight to whatever point he was trying to make. This could be endearing or offensive, depending on who he was dealing with; in the business dealings of something so tricky as magic he’d found that others often appreciated how forthright he could be. It was somewhat of a rarity among those who practiced the craft.

thanks eve

A myriad of bright ideas.

When Yuu entered the room he was just expecting a repeat of yesterday, which would play in to his favor in the end. But that wasn't what he was greeted with. When Yuu started talking Quinn wasn't looking at him at first, but when it became more clear that Yuu wanted to actually do something other than sit around on this nice comfy couch and watch tv with him. He looked at him, expression a little in between indifference and disinterest. Sure, Quinn was lazy. He didn't really want to do a whole lot of anything if he could help it, but he wasn't a shut in or anything. He didn't mind going out every now and then on his own accord. But that was usually it, on his own accord. Something about being asked to leave seemed more like a chore to the demon, so he was immediately somewhat turned off on the idea as a whole. Even if it was with Yuudai who was, frankly, one of the few people he could actually stand to be around in this town.

It took a moment of consideration before the remote floated in front of him clicked the power button and the tv shut off. He rolled his head back, groaning as the remote dropped back on the couch. "I barely know the place myself" he whined. That wasn't totally true. He had done a lot of following of Roman before choosing him to stay with. He also followed Roselyn about curiously when she returned. Roman was far more interesting to follow; he went to lots of places. He would go to the store, werewolf pack meetings and activities, help ladies cross the street, go to bars and get his shit kicked in, murder people, then deal with it. Roselyn went to a lot of places but with a lot less murder and a lot more shopping. But with those two experiences combined, he had gotten a fairly good grasp on where things where and the people who would frequent these places (he followed Roman for like a month).

"Fine but you owe me" he said, pushing off the couch and actually standing. He rolled his shoulders, his more supernatural features more or less disappearing from public view. Not that it meant anything to Yuudai, as he could still see his thick claws and his serpentine tail which gently swayed back and forth behind him. So he essentially did nothing as far as the warlock was concerned. "What do you want to see?" he asked, wondering if he was looking for anything in particular that he could just take him done so they could just be done and he could come back and maybe eat some ramen.
